Scholarships at De La Salle University

St. La Salle Financial Assistance Grant for
Incoming College Freshmen (General Guidelines)

Application Period for AY 2014-2015: 20 January to 28 February 2014

De La Salle University provides financial assistance to Filipino students who meet specific criteria for eligibility. The selection of grantees is done by the University Scholarship Council based on the following factors/criteria:
Financial Need. Only those whose annual family income is less than PhP 700,000 will be considered.
Academic Competence. The Council will take into consideration the applicant's high school grades and DLSU College Admission Test (DLSU CAT) results.
Interview Result. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to report for an interview in March.
Processing of financial assistance applications will begin after the list of accepted freshman applicants has been officially released by the Office of Admissions and Scholarships (OAS) in January. However, acceptance into the University does not necessarily guarantee that financial assistance will be given to the applicant. The number of students to be granted financial assistance will depend on the number of available slots for the degree program. Financial assistance can be given to only one grantee per family.
The results of financial assistance applications will be released in March. Applicants who fail to receive any notification regarding their application may inquire at the OAS through scholarships@dlsu.edu.ph.
Once awarded, the grants are renewable every trimester. Grantees are required to meet certain academic standards and to abide by the policies prescribed by the OAS. Grantees may be required to render service/research assistantship beginning their sophomore year.
The financial aid program usually includes tuition and fees only, although a donor may provide other forms of assistance, such as book and living allowances.

St. Joseph School – La Salle is a Catholic, co-educational, general secondary school duly recognized by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports and accredited by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). As one of the 1200 La Salle Schools in 85 countries, St. Joseph School – La Salle is specially established for the purpose of serving the children of the working class in Barangay Villamonte and its surrounding barangays in Bacolod City. Animated by the Lasallian charism of service to the poor, religion, mores, cultura and commitment to excellent education among the youth, St. Joseph School – La Salle dedicates itself to: 1. The formation of a dynamic Christian community composed of students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, La Salle Brothers and Sisters; 2. The total development of the students by: a. Promoting equality of educational opportunities to the youth regardless of socio-econimic status, religion, sex and academic background while upholding its Catholic identity. b. Providing excellent education that will prepare students for college work; 3. The contribution to the achievement of national development goals by moulding God-loving, dedicated, disciplined, reliable, creative, productive and nationalistic youth; 4. Support community-related and Church sponsored cultural, educational, sport and religious activities by active participation and by making its resources available to interest groups. By committing itself to these goals, St. Joseph School – La Salle hopes to give witness to St. John Baptist De la Salle’s vision of Christian education among members of the more deprived sectors of the Philippine society.
